Since 2008 I have been a member of the Board of Directors for the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council® (AGRSS® www.agrss.com) and I also hold the title of Vice President for the non-profit organization.
Background
I have worked in the auto glass repair and replacement industry (AGRR) since 1972 when I started off as an auto glass installer trainee. From 1978 to 1986, I owned and operated MAGIC Auto Glass which consisted of nine retail AGRR shops and a warehouse distribution company in Florida. Eight years later, in 1986, MAGIC Auto Glass was sold to a Fortune 200 business, Lear Siegler, Inc., which at the time, owned Safelite Auto Glass the leading AGRR company in the United States.
I became a Safelite District Manager in western Florida in 1986. I then was appointed the Regional Manager of Acquisitions in 1987, and then a Regional Vice President responsible for the New England Region from 1988 to 1989.
In 1990 I joined Windshields America, the United States division of Belron International as Executive Vice President of Operations. In early 1992 I became the Chief Operating Officer of the Company and in September of 1992 I was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Windshields America. My time at Windshields America was an especially rewarding experience. Windshields America was in operation from 1988 to 1996 and while there, I forged life-long bonds with countless AGRR professionals, many who are still in the AGRR industry today.
When Windshields America merged with Globe Glass & Mirror/U.S. Auto Glass to form Vistar in 1996, I moved on to join Belron International at the headquarters of the Company located in Richmond, Surrey, United Kingdom as Executive Director. In this position I was responsible for New Market development for Belron International in South America, North America and Asia. I was responsible for building businesses in Brazil and Canada and held a number of other positions with Belron International including President and Chief Executive Officer/Vice Chairman of the Board of Belron Canada, along with Board responsibility for Carglass Brasil until 2001.
From 2002-2004, I worked as a consultant advising and investing in business retail and B2B start-ups in Illinois and California.
I was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Glass America from October 2004 to October 2011. Glass America is an independently-owned automobile glass replacement and repair companies in the country. It is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The company was founded in 1999 and has service centers conducting business under various names in Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.
